Be A Star – the ultimate K-pop dance concert competition where passion meets performance! This event is a thrilling celebration of K-pop culture, combining electrifying dance battles with a concert atmosphere. With international judges from Korea, Indonesia, and beyond, Be A Star offers a unique platform for dancers to showcase their talent on a global stage.
Be A Star is an annual dance competition since 2019, celebrating six years of talent and creativity. The competition started with its first edition in 2019, followed by a second in 2023 due to MCO. Be A Star continues to run in 2024, providing a dynamic platform for dancers to showcase their skills.
Year 2019
Be a Star Dance Competition was first organized in 2019, marking a significant milestone. We had the honor of inviting esteemed judges from West Malaysia, including Virus Ladies, Kingsman, and Mad G, all renowned for their vast experience in the dance world. In addition to the competition, we offered a dance workshop led by Kingsman, providing participants with the opportunity to improve their skills. Despite being a first-time event, we were thrilled to have 25 talented groups take part and compete in this exciting dance competition.
Year 2023
After a hiatus since 2019 due to the global pandemic, Be A Star is back and better than ever in 2023! We're thrilled to have reopened our doors and brought the energy and excitement of this beloved event to life once again. This year, we elevated the experience by inviting Malaysia's top KOL dancers as our judges, including the talented Kidinn, Stoppie, and Krystal. Their presence added an extra spark, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Additionally, we proudly hosted the event at the vibrant SJK Chung Hua No.3, providing a fantastic venue for all participants, guests, and fans. With a blend of star power and exceptional organization, Be A Star 2023 has set a new standard for events, creating memories that will last a lifetime!
Year 2024
As part of our ongoing mission to take Be A Star to the international stage, 2024 marks a groundbreaking year with a bigger and better event than ever before. We’ve taken our event to new heights by inviting a diverse and talented panel of judges from around the world, adding even more prestige to this already highly anticipated experience. This year, we’re excited to welcome Yeo Jin, a renowned dancer from Korea’s iconic 1 Million Dance Studio and affiliated with YGX’s dance crew, NWX. Joining her are NatyaShina, a celebrated KOL dancer from Indonesia, and Ritthithep Saisuwan, a world-class choreographer from Thailand. Their expertise and influence in the global dance community are sure to bring incredible energy and insight to the competition. The venue has also grown to match the scale of this global event. We’ve moved to the impressive Hikmah Exchange Event Centre, offering a larger space to provide better views for our audience and a more spectacular stage for our participants to showcase their talent.
